If you are a seasoned IMVU user you would know that IMVU allows you to hide your outfit(s) from other users. A way to get around that was to use a feature on the IMVU Emporium (IMVU-E) called the Hidden Outfit Viewer. I believed the hide outfit option on IMVU hurts creators in the long run. What is really the point of hiding your outfit from other users? Is it to stop people from copying your look? I can understand that you don't want people copying your originality, but in the grand scheme of things that feature stops the creators that made what you are wearing from potential new customers. I ultimately don't have a huge problem with the feature IMVU offered, but here is where IMVU-E gets unethical. I mentioned before that IMVU-E had a feature to un-hide outfits. I don't remember exactly when but at some point they started to charge $10 to remove your avatar from having it's outfit viewed! If you don't see the problem with this, then allow me to explain. IMVU offered a feature to hide your outfit...for free; IMVU-E then offers a feature to un-hide that avatars outfit...for free; IMVU-E then comes around and starts charging people for a service they were getting from IMVU for free already that THEY took upon themselves to undo! And you know what the worst part is? I have some links that will unhide outfits anyway and as far as I know they aren't exploiting users for $10. Remixie's IMVU Pro This is my biggest gripe with IMVU-E. They are charging for a solution to the problem they created. I would not have an issue if they offered the feature to opt-out of having your outfit un-hidden for free. As I said before I believe the option to hide outfits hurts creators, but no one should be exploited like that. And yes it is exploitation. Obviously no one is forcing people to pay the $10 but at one point the two sites I linked above were not available. This meant that if you really did not want people on IMVU seeing your outfit you had to pay that $10.

As a new user in 2009 I wanted skin tones that resembled my actual dark skin. It was so hard to find a skin that did. The only black skins I could find were light and medium brown. It was annoying. When I finally found some darker skins that I found acceptable they were poorly made. They looked more red and orange than they did dark brown. Fast forward 10 years later and I only have five dark skins total. And looking back at them (for the sake of this post) they were not that good, but I was happy I had them. I did not get good dark skin tones on IMVU until I started making them for myself.
When I started making skins for users, the sales were pretty good. I was earning some decent credits for them. I even received compliments in my inbox from people who really appreciated the effort I was putting into my skins. When I actually went to check in on my sales for each skin. I instantly noticed that the lighter skin tones were outselling the darker tones and not by just a little bit. This was a while ago but I remember giving it a ratio similar to 10:1. This was a while back though. Let's fast forward to when I started creating Mesh Heads at a high level in 2017 (I started practicing them in 2014 and and launched with Vladdy in 2016). I quickly noticed the same trend in my mesh heads that the skins I created back in 2011 had. The lighter ones were out selling the darker ones. The ratio is somewhere around 9:1 with my mesh heads. When I started making multi-toned versions of my heads the lighter ones always dominated in sales. I blame coloursim.
I found these images while looking up hair references for new projects. Even the eyes and facial hairs are straight stolen from IMVU. This needs to end before someone gets in trouble. IMVU and SIMS may just be games, but REAL people put in REAL work. If you guys had an ounce of fucking talent you would be making your own creations from scratch. screen shots of theftStop. Fucking. Stealing. My. Shit. It's not even funny. What gives you the right to steal from me?
Been busy doing adult stuff, BUT in my spare time I still have been creating. I have an obsession with creating wave haircuts on IMVU. I do not have waves in real life. I actually have very long hair in real life which makes no sense because I make so many wave cuts. Last time I had waves was in like 2009! I have been trying to get my wave cuts more and more HD and realistic every chance I get. I am starting to perfect the crown area and positioning the waves just right. One issue I have with waves on IMVU is that they are either way too perfect or out right defies the laws of physics. No 360 waves are perfectly circular and symmetrical. I try to find a somewhat balance between symmetry and imperfection. I just released possibly the best waves on IMVU yet! You can find them HERE. I have been taking a break from creating mesh heads. I have been rarely releasing them. I am trying to fix that really soon. "A product is worth what the customer is willing to pay for it.
It's my belief that it doesn't matter much if your product costs 600 or 700 credits. If the customer wants it enough, they'll buy it. I don't know anyone on Imvu who's counting their credits by the hundreds. Another thing is that research shows that if you have two similar products, one is priced 69.99, and the other is priced 60.00, they will go for the most expensive one. Believe it or not. The third thing I want to say, is that there is a huge difference between retexturing a hairstyle, and producing a clothing article from scratch, spending several hours, perhaps days. Adding the same profit on both is ridiculus." - Bunnie@IMVU So I wanted to bring some of my IMVU haircuts to The Sims 4. At first it was really hard because I had no idea what I was doing. I was struggling to get the shape up correctly. I finally got the hand of it and started to quickly progress through it. This is fun to work on. It reminds me of the way making haircuts on Second Life is. I will release these on this website as soon as I can get the swatches to work correctly. If I can't get the swatches to work correctly I will remove the extra designs I planned on putting out and just leave the haircut as-is.
